On March 26, 2018, SWMS associate Malini Vijaykumar was a panel speaker at Precedent Magazine’s event titled “How to fix law’s mental health crisis”. Malini’s fellow panelists were John Hoyles (former president of the Canadian Bar Association and current CEO of the Community Information Centre of Ottawa/211 East) and Frankie Wood (founding partner of Wood Gold LLP). The panel was moderated by Daniel Fish, Senior Editor at Precedent Magazine.
The panelists spoke about coping techniques for new and experienced lawyers, as well as suggestions for improving these issues in the legal profession more generally. The event was hosted by BLG, drew attendees from all levels and areas of practice, and ended with a lively discussion and Q&A.
