Malini Vijaykumar practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, and medical malpractice. She also has an interest in public law and Indigenous legal issues. Malini articled with Stevenson Whelton MacDonald & Swan LLP in 2016-2017 and, following her call to the bar, returned to the firm as an associate.

Malini graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2016, receiving the Samuel & Clara Shime Prize for Excellence in Law and Medicine. While at law school, Malini won first place and Best Oralist at the Frank W. Callaghan Memorial Moot, first place in Ontario at the John D. Arnup Cup Trial Moot, and second place in Canada at the John Sopinka Cup Trial Moot. Malini volunteered throughout law school at Downtown Legal Services in the Criminal division, representing Legal Aid clients on summary conviction criminal matters. She was also a 2014 SLS Public Interest Fellow with Innocence Canada, researching miscarriages of justice as they affect Indigenous defendants. She is currently a lawyer supervisor with Innocence Canada's PBSC Project, which delivers public legal education presentations on the topics of wrongful convictions and civil rights.

Malini's non-legal interests include Indian classical dance, hiking, and science fiction.
